We are a home-based breeding program, dedicated to raising healthy Scotties that have sound temperaments. We have worked very hard to maintain the Official Standard of the Scottish Terrier as set forth by both the UKC and AKC, and  guarantee that our puppies will be robust, vermin-free, and healthy.
We love our pups, and have strict guidelines that must be followed by those wishing to provide homes for them.  You absolutely must be prepared to provide a forever home for  one of our pups, because under no circumstances do we want any of them to ever end up in a shelter, a pound, or passed around to a series of homes. Puppies are not disposable.  They require a great deal of love, patience, dedication, and devotion. Given that, they are guaranteed to become loving, loyal companions for the rest of their lives.
Towards that end, you will be expected to complete an application to help us  fit you with the right pup. If you have never been owned by a Scottie before, congratulations! You are about to be blessed!
Please know that we are available to answer questions and help in any way possible to ease the transition for both you and our pup, whether you are new to Scotties or not.  We keep in contact with our  puppies'  families because we want to see our lines develop, and make sure that we continue to maintain the Official Breed Standard.

Pedigrees are available on the Pedigrees page.

All puppies will have current shots,  be in the best of health, and have a puppy kit  in addition to vet records and registration papers.
A 2 year Health Guarantee and a Puppy Contract to be signed and returned will also be included.
We have the best interests of our pups in mind. To that end, we prefer that they be spayed/neutered in order to prevent accidents from happening unless they are sold on a show contract. We will not provide puppies to anyone who does not keep their Scotties in the house, as a pet. This includes show homes. We owe it to our parent dogs to find loving, family homes for their pups. We have no interest in placing any of them in a kennel situation, since they have been born and raised in a home environment. To remove them to a kennel after having lived in the house would be cruel.
Our highest aspiration for each and every puppy is for them to be adored members of the family, to complement the lives of the people with whom they are placed. We are fully prepared to keep each pup until the right match is found, because each pup is an individual.  Making the right match will ensure that everybody transitions smothly and happily.

Scottish Terriers can, unfortunately, have many genetic health problems, due to irresponsible breeding practices. In order to educate yourself about what to look for when planning to add a new little one to your home, it is very important that you be aware of these genetic issues, and know what questions to ask prospective breeders. An excellent place to start is the Scottish Terrier Club of America-  clubs.akc.org/stca
There, you will  find an amazing amount of information about this wonderful breed, and you will learn what questions to ask, and what breeders to stay away from. Just remember- you get what you pay for. A bargain at the sale table may not turn out to be a wise investment in the years to come if your adorable new puppy needs constant vet care and medication to control a genetic disorder that could have been prevented. That is part of what it means to be a "responsible breeder". It's devastating to discover that your beloved little one has fallen victim to it's heredity, and will require more health care than you and your family can afford. That's a horrible position to be put in, and one that every breeder can help prevent.
Our Policy
Scotties and Kids
Our Scotties love children, but they are used to older children. Scottie puppies play ROUGH, and are rambunctious. They are very strong at a very young age, and can inadvertantly hurt a child. They bite and nip, and steal toys, and play hide and seek with them. If you have toddlers or younger children who have not been around this type of puppy behavior before, please give serious thought to the need to train both the puppy and the child(ren) to play together gently. If you are not prepared to teach BOTH the child and the dog to respect each other, please reconsider this breed. Scottish Terriers are independent thinkers because they were designed to be so. They do not tolerate their dignity or personal space to be offended, and will take it upon themselves to correct an errant child, if an adult does not. Remember- no breed of puppy should be left unsupervised with a young child, ever.
We will not place a pup in a home with young children unless the parents are experienced Scottie owners, and are very familiar with the needs and behavior of  Scottie pups.
What you, as a potential buyer, should know
It is our goal to prevent vWD, CMO, Scottie Cramp, and a host of other genetic infirmities, from entering our lines. Towards that end, we have researched extensively and bred only healthy Scotties with no history of genetic disorders in their lines.
We have put equal consideration into the conformation and temperament of our puppies, since we are of the firm position that a Scottie should look like a Scottie, and act like a Scottie.
Temperamentally, as the Standard indicates, we prefer calm, steadfast adults that are not nervous or overly exciteable. But be advised- what happens to our pup once it is in your home will most assuredly determine whether it remains true to its' breeding, or is taught, or allowed, to develop bad habits.
Scotties require a regular grooming schedule, and whether you prefer to perform this task yourself, or take your pet to a professional, you really should plan on a full groom at least once per month with bi-weekly brushing in between.
